What is Innovation Exchange?
Objectives and main principles
The main objective of the project is
to build organization and information infrastructure that allows effective
management of projects subjected to technology transfer. That is to allow
self-organization of a number of participants that are concerned about certain
development/idea according to their interests and
professional/technological/scientific field of activity. It’s almost impossible
to achieve that main objective without building a proper information system
which can grant:
-
Support of wide register of
innovation and technology sources (developers);
-
Support of register filled with
innovation developments classified by its stage of advance and sphere of
applicability (technology offers);
-
Support of register of mediators
classified by their roles, interests and competence that are connected to the
process of technological transfer (brokers);
-
Giving the opportunity a virtual
consortium of participants to be formed (self-organized) so they could manage
the process effectively;
-
Giving the opportunity discussion
forums to be arranged so new ideas and proposals for collaboration can be
given about certain development;
-
Support of register of
technological requests connected with specific industry problem or with a
problem with other technological centers or networks (technology
request);
-
Internet access to the system
which designation is to enlarge the base of all active participants in the
technology transfer process – supply, demand, intermediation and financing,
specific professional services related to the protection of intellectual
property (IP), management, etc;
-
Personalizing of the information
and the services available for a certain user of the system according to his
profile – role, belonging to the exchange, sphere of interests’
etc;
-
Possibility for integration with
other industry specialized exchanges.
Scope of the system
The system is
actually an Internet based client-server application (accessible by Web-browser
clients), assembled by two basic functional modules:
- Exchange of technology
and innovations. Gathering of supply and demand made possible by pro-active
mediators (brokers). All of the three main groups of users have particular
tools/instruments to express their interest in a given
idea/development/problem. The level of belonging to the exchange of a certain
user determines the functions and the services that he/she may
access;
- System for
coordinating and managing technological transfer projects. This sub-system is
closely integrated with the exchange services and gives the opportunity to a
special category of users to define, coordinate and manage projects that have
been initiated as a result of declaring participation/interest by a certain
group of exchange members. The links with other specialized branch exchanges
are fulfilled and coordinated from this level.
